Job Title: Business Development Manager – Europe (German or French speaking)

We are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in safety-critical solutions, specialising in mitigating risks in harsh working environments. Their innovative technologies, including trapped-key interlocking systems and bespoke safety solutions, protect people, ensure productivity, and safeguard business reputations.

Operating across industries such as railway systems, energy, industrial manufacturing, and loading bay operations, they deliver cutting-edge solutions trusted by customers worldwide.

Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Development Manager, fluent in either German or French to drive growth in France and Germany, expanding our client’s presence across Europe. This role is ideal for a technically minded sales professional with a strong understanding of engineering who is passionate about safety-critical technologies.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Build and develop client relationships in Germany and France, focusing on the rail, energy, and industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Promote and demonstrate tailored safety solutions and cutting-edge technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure customer needs are effectively addressed.
  • Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities and managing sales pipelines.
  • Represent the organisation at client meetings, industry events, and trade shows.

 Essential Criteria:

  • Fluent in German (preferred) or French.
  • Strong technical understanding or background in engineering.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineers and technical teams.

 Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in the European rail market, particularly Deutsche Bahn or similar organisations.
  • Financial acumen, including budget management and forecasting.

Work Location

  • Split between client-facing (50% initially, increasing to 75%) and remote work.
  • Regular travel to the Sheffield HQ (approximately 2 days every 2 weeks).
