About the role:

As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and effective lessons to students. This position involves planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress and fostering a creative and inclusive classroom environment. You will work closely with colleagues to develop innovative teaching strategies and ensure that students are well-prepared for their future endeavours.

Responsibilities of the Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Design and Technology that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment, effectively managing behaviour and ensuring a safe learning space.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the Design and Technology curriculum, incorporating new and creative teaching methods.
  • Organise and manage classroom resources and equipment, ensuring they are used effectively to enhance learning.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching and technology.

Requirements of the Design and Technology Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related field will be beneficial.
  • Proven experience teaching in Design and Technology at the school level.
  • Excellent organisational and classroom management abilities.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students to learn new languages.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
