Job Title: SEND CoordinatorLocation: Wath-upon-DearneHours: 37Salary: Up to £32,199Length of the contract: PermanentGi Group Recruitment are now seeking to appoint a SEND Coordinator to our client based in Wath-upon-Dearne. The SEND Coordinator will work collaboratively with learners, their families, schools, colleagues and external agencies to identify and design a support plan for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to enable to reach their potential. They will also manage specialist exam arrangements to ensure all appropriate arrangements are made for learners who require them.Duties of the SEND Coordinator:

  • Carry out specialist exam access arrangement assessments for learners where required; including Wide Range Achievement Testing (WRAT's) in-line with JCQ Regulations.
  • Ensure that Additional Learning Support (ALS) referrals are screened timely and additional learning support appointments are conducted.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend ALS strategies to reduce barriers to learning, considering recommendations from EHCPs, referrals, disclosures and the learner and family's needs and wishes.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure early identification of learners' individual support needs in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and wider support departments to ensure the ALS recommendations are deployed and learners are supported as per their ALS plans and EHCP's.

Role Criteria:

  • Experience in supporting students with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Experience and understanding of making safeguarding referrals
  • Experience working with young people and vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
  • A proven ability to plan, prepare and implement support programmes/assessments as and when required
  • A specialist qualification in SEND
  • Minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
