Gi Group are now seeking to appoint a SEND and Exams Assessor to our client based in Rotherham. The SEND and Exams Assessor will work collaboratively with learners, their families, schools, colleagues and external agencies to identify and design a support plan for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities to enable to reach their potential. They will also manage specialist exam arrangements to ensure all appropriate arrangements are made for learners who require them.

Duties of the SEND and Exam Access Arrangements Assessor:

* Carry out specialist exam access arrangement assessments for learners where required; including Wide Range Achievement Testing (WRAT's) in-line with JCQ Regulations.
* Ensure that Additional Learning Support (ALS) referrals are screened timely and additional learning support appointments are conducted.
* Identify, assess, and recommend ALS strategies to reduce barriers to learning, considering recommendations from EHCPs, referrals, disclosures and the learner and family's needs and wishes.
* Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure early identification of learners' individual support needs in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
* Work collaboratively with curriculum teams and wider support departments to ensure the ALS recommendations are deployed and learners are supported as per their ALS plans and EHCP's.


Role Criteria:

* Sound knowledge of SEND and an understanding of related issues
* Strong communication skills
* Understanding of the JCQ exam regulations in relation to exam access arrangements
* Minimum Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
