Job Title: Continuous Improvement Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Are you an experienced Production Engineer with a passion for problem-solving, driving innovation, and leading positive change? If so, my client has an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic team in a role that directly impacts manufacturing excellence.

The Role

As a Senior Production Engineer, you will be a key member of the Production Engineering team, responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing new technologies, and driving continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and introduce innovative methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems and identify solutions.
  • Provide feedback on potential product or process improvements, supported by data and technical insight.
  • Conduct technical reviews of proposed manufacturing changes, ensuring alignment with quality standards and product functionality.
  • Manage high-value capital expenditure projects, ensuring successful implementation and sustained impact.
  • Promote Lean Six Sigma principles within engineering activities.
  • Identify and evaluate new equipment and processes, building robust business cases for capital investments.
  • Support production engineering troubleshooting and technical challenges.

About You

You are an experienced, self-motivated engineer with a strong technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering. Your problem-solving mindset and ability to manage projects effectively make you a natural fit for this role. You thrive in collaborative environments and can build strong relationships across teams.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • HND or higher in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar manufacturing or production engineering environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach.
  • Full UK driving license.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Programming experience.
  • Bachelors Degree or higher.
  • Experience in quality and production engineering environments.
  • CAD skills (Autodesk).
