GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join a well-regarded secondary school in Rotherham. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and well-equipped department, committed to delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students to develop practical skills and problem-solving abilities.

As a DT Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students to explore design, engineering, and manufacturing processes. You will bring the subject to life through hands-on projects, real-world applications, and a passion for creativity and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exciting and practical Design and Technology lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Inspire and motivate students to develop problem-solving and technical skills.
  • Plan and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum, ensuring all students progress.
  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning experiences.
  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment, following health and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and the ongoing development of the DT department.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical experience in Design and Technology.
  • Experience teaching DT at secondary level (KS3 & KS4).
  • Passion for education and the ability to inspire creativity and technical skills.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A full and up-to-date CV and an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one).
