About the Company: My client is looking to recruit a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their manufacturing company based in Wiltshire. The company manufacture precision parts, primarily serving the automotive, aerospace and power generation industries supplying a worldwide customer base.

About the Role: Within the role of Lead Electrician will be responsible for managing and executing electrical installations, maintenance, and repair tasks. This role involves supervising a team of electricians and electrical apprentices, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical systems, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians in performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs within the manufacturing sites.
  • Plan and execute electrical projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to determine project requirements and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior electricians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of electrical materials and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency electrical situations and provide solutions promptly.

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience within a supervisory role
  • PC knowledge including use of Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Experience of mechanical maintenance an advantage
  • Knowledge of welding equipment, lathes, milling machines and other shop floor equipment.

Qualifications: Hold 18th Edition in BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations
