Quantity Surveyor (Main Contractor) | Up to 75k + car / allowance + bonus + enhanced pension | Permanent | Hampshire

Salary: Up to 75k + excellent package

Location: Head Office just north of Southampton, with regular site visits and 1 day per week working from home

A reputable, multi-faceted main contractor that operates throughout the South East has a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis, overseeing a select number of local projects.

The company is a successful main contractor that operates predominantly in Hampshire and the Southern Counties. They work across a number of sectors including private and social housing, retired living and care homes, mostly on new build projects.

Due to their continued success, they are expanding and have a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join them. You will report to Directors and senior management, and oversee a number of projects at various stages, which are primarily JCT D&B contracts.

The Quantity Surveyor will manage the commercial resources (people and finance) of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts. To assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement policies for risk management. To support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders. To maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers.

Experience Required:

  • Recognised Construction Qualifications

  • Track record working as a Quantity Surveyor for a reputable main contractor

  • New build residential, retired living or care home experience

  • Good knowledge of JCT D&B Projects

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong negotiation skills
