The School and Role:

An Alternative Provision school based in Southampton are currently seeking a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to start with them from February. The school caters for secondary aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as challenging behaviour.  

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be required to work 1-1 or in small classes, assisting pathway 1 pupils academically as well as overcoming barriers to learning and supporting them emotionally.

The Desired SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • A passion for the progress of pupils
  • Experience of working with children in an educational setting
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEND/SEMH/challenging behaviour
  • An ability to work as part of a team
