About the Role:I am seeking a Financial Controller to manage day-to-day finance functions, provide commercial input to the Senior Management Team, oversee financial controls, and drive business improvements. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in a similar role, ideally within the SME sector. Initially a temporary position, there is scope for the role to be made temporary upon a successful assignment. This role can pay £250 PAYE or £300 via Umbrella (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Oversee monthly closing processes and own the monthly results.
  • Ensure accurate cashflow management and monthly forecasting.
  • Maintain accurate VAT accounting records and ensure compliance with legislation changes.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Create annual budget and forecast models.
  • Maintain monthly intercompany reconciliations (national and international).
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures.
  • Support the production of new financial KPIs and drive operational teams to improve performance.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external parties (e.g., auditors, banks).

About You:We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Successful, proven experience in relevant finance roles.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail resulting in consistent, reliable information.
  • Ability to work independently ensuring high-quality output.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, index look-ups, etc.).
  • Relevant accountancy qualification
