We’re looking for a talented individual to fill the role of Global People Experience and Internal Communications Specialist at Costa Coffee. You’ll be a key player in supporting our team members informed, connected, and engaged in their life at work through storytelling, content creation, and channel activation of operational, brand and product, cultural, and business topics, among others through our Costa Connect news centre, weekly newsletter, and small-scale change communications plans.

What you’ll do

We encourage trust and empower our teams to make independent decisions, valuing a can-do attitude, boldness, and the courage to drive positive change. We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front and demonstrate the following:

Business Partnering:

  • Be a business partner on special initiatives, projects, and change programmes advising, enabling, curating, and connecting the dots across messaging, projects, campaigns, and delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, confidently and consistently managing expectations, providing updates on project progress, highlighting any risks/challenges, and coming with solutions.
  • Understand the needs of different groups and use it to influence decisions on approaches.

Communications Planning and Delivery:

  • Develop and implement communications plans for a variety of topics, utilising diverse channels and techniques to enhance employee engagement.
  • Create engaging content aligned with our tone of voice to connect and inform our global support centre teams.
  • Coordinate internal campaigns, including culture, engagement, and strategic updates, ensuring timely execution of multiple projects.
  • Curate content for internal newsletters, intranet, and company meetings, driving alignment with Costa’s purpose, values, and behaviours.

Who you are

In addition to collaborating effectively with diverse teams, we seek an outstanding communicator with persuasive storytelling abilities, and the ability to gain the trust of team members at all levels and bring the following qualities to this role:

  • A proven track record of managing global internal communications in a complex organisation with several internal stakeholders.
  • Strong storytelling skills to create compelling narratives to team members across the globe
  • A partnership mindset and proven experience working as a business partner to a People function
  • Proven experience in strategic, operational, and change communications.
  • Working knowledge of communications channels for engagement with different audience groups (Sharepoint, Mailchimp, Poppulo, M365)
  • A proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising a variety of tasks while working to deadlines and budgets.
  • A self-starter with high levels of personal self-motivation, a can-do attitude and contagious energy to deliver results, playing your part to make it happen
  • A commitment to your own professional development and that of others, with Interest and curiosity in staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in internal communications (and beyond).
