Polytec are looking for an Electrical Engineer for our client based in Royston.

Responsibilities:

* Deliver electrical designs to provide machine control functionality for new products
* Oversee the development testing of electrical designs
* Provide support to the product development build and commissioning teams
* Create and maintain Bills of Materials for electrical designs
* Oversee the development testing and commissioning of machinery safety circuits
* Create and manage documentation associated with electrical safety of machinery
* Define and communicate interface specifications and protocols to project teams
* Ensure that externally purchased electrical and electronic systems are designed to meet company standards
* Contribute to project design reviews

Requirements:

* Good degree; 2:1 or above, ideally in Electrical Engineering, HND in electrical engineering plus extensive experience will also be considered
* Design of AC and DC power distribution systems for small / medium scale industrial and commercial products
* Design of electrical solutions to meet EMC regulations
* Experience of writing, implementing and managing electrical and machinery functional safety tests
* Experience of electrical and electronic communication hardware such as RS232, RS485, USB and Ethernet
* Knowledge of electrical power distribution and communications design
* Writing and reviewing of electrical and machinery safety test documentation
* Knowledge of electrical CAD tools (EPlan)
* Knowledge of UK, EU and US international product directives and regulations
* Effective oral and written communication skills
