Cambridge - OutskirtsHybrid Working and flexible hours Broster Buchanan are delighted to be working as the sole agent with a success Cambridge SME who have the backing from a hugely successful parent company. The business has recently embarked upon the next stage of its business plan and is seeking a finance professional who enjoys management accounts as part of a varied role. Process improvements will play a key part of the job as you look to review and enhance the current methodologies. Reporting to the CFO, the Finance Manager is the number two finance position and will have the opportunity to deputise for the CFO when required.The role holder will be seen as the go to person in the business for all day to day matters related to the financial management of the business.  The ideal candidate will have the potential to develop and assume more responsibility within the business as sales increase. Key duties include: 
  • Responsible for the completion and delivery of monthly management accounts for various entities including journals, prepayments, accruals, and fixed assets 
  • Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation preparation and review
  • Cash flow forecasting monthly and long range
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • VAT returns 
  • Manage third party relationships with banks, auditors and manage external audit process
  • Management and development of two members of staff
  • Business Partner with divisional operational managers on day to day and adhoc projects such as Capex requests)
  • Prepare the first draft of the Annual Operating Plan for review with CFO
  • Cost Centre support to the Executive team
  • Variance analysis
Suitable applicants: Ideally you will be fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA however consideration will be given to part qualified or AAT qualified The client is open to applicants stepping up into their first Finance Manager role, or those seeking a side ways move.
