Position: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to 40K, depending on experience

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of individuals with complex learning difficulties and medical needs?

We are collaborating with an organisation who are seeking an experienced Designated Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead. The residential home provides specialist care for young people with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), complex needs and medical requirements.

Key responsibilities:
  • To lead on all safeguarding matters, ensuring residents are protected and supported in line with statutory guidelines (CQC and Ofsted regulations)
  • Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding concerns, liaising with external agencies (e.g., local authorities, health services).
  • Develop and maintain safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring they are effectively implemented and adhered to by all staff.
  • Provide training, guidance, and supervision to staff on safeguarding and behavioural protocols and best practices.
  • Monitor and review safeguarding incidents, conducting regular audits to ensure continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.
  • Deliver pastoral support to residents, ensuring their emotional, social, and personal needs are met with care and sensitivity.
  • To implement an Attendance Policy.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider care team, families, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to residents' wellbeing.
Requirements:
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Level 3 DSL Training
  • Proven experience working as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (preferably within a residential or care setting)
  • Experience providing pastoral care or emotional support within a care of educational setting
