The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems and a passion for creating reliable and efficient software solutions.
Responsibilities of an Embedded Software Engineer
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop embedded software solutions for a variety of hardware platforms
- Design, develop, and debug software for embedded systems using C/C++ and other programming languages
- Contribute to the integration of new technologies, such as FPGA and DSP, into embedded systems
- Implement communication protocols like UART, SPI, I2C, and CANbus for data exchange between embedded devices
- Engage in recruitment and procurement activities as needed, fostering an inclusive and diverse team environment
Qualifications needed for an Embedded Software Engineer
- Master's or PHD degree in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science)
- Strong proficiency in embedded software development, including embedded C/C++ programming and firmware development
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, CANbus) and networking protocols (e.g., UDP)
- Familiarity with embedded Linux, build tools such as Bitbake, and bootloaders
- Good understanding of analogue electronics, VHDL, and FPGA technologies
- This position requires a security clearance to be processed before joining
