Senior Stores Person

£30,000 plus excellent benefits

The Senior Stores Person is a permanent position based in Royston for an established manufacturing company. This is a key operational role within the Stores & Supply Chain team, ensuring the efficient execution of warehouse activities, kitting processes, inventory management, and material flow to support production. The role requires experience in factory material logistics within a dynamic manufacturing environment ensuring materials are delivered on time and in full (OTIF) to production stations.

Responsibilities for the Senior Stores Person:

  • Warehouse Operations: Strong understanding of material handling, stock control, and kitting processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve material flow issues and operational bottlenecks efficiently.
  • Organisation & Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and follow procedures.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Safety & Compliance: Knowledge of warehouse safety best practices and HSE regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using warehouse management systems, ERP software, and IT systems.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle changing priorities effectively.

Experience and knowledge required for the Senior Stores Person:

  • Minimum 5 plus years’ experience in a warehouse or stores role within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with material flow management of multi-level BOMs and complex assemblies.
  • Previous work in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) is beneficial.
  • Valid forklift license, ideally with overhead gantry (pendant) approval and knowledge of warehouse safety standards are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Lean inventory models (Kanban, JIT, VMI) is a plus.

Hours of work for the Senior Stores Person:

Monday to Friday Flexible 8.00am to 4.00pm
