About the Role

Are you passionate about driving positive change and improving manufacturing processes? Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Royston, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team.

This full time, permanent role involves using lean tools and a data-driven approach to proactively identify and implement improvements within the manufacturing environment. You’ll be creating value by enhancing efficiency, safety, and quality, while developing innovative tools, techniques, and processes to address challenges related to ergonomics, safety, quality, and cost.

You will have previous experience working within a manufacturing environment, a strong understanding of lean principles and tools with a proven track record in deploying lean manufacturing systems and techniques with a 6 Sigma (or equivalent) qualification.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, waste elimination, and cost reduction by addressing non-value-added activities
  • Collaborate with the Engineering function to officialise and action technical changes (e.g., routing, BOMs, technical instructions)
  • Support and facilitate Practical Problem Solving (PPS) & root cause analysis
  • Plan, facilitate, and execute continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Collaborate with various departments to improve processes both on the shop floor and office areas.
  • Partner with operations teams to organise and manage manufacturing workflows, resources, and facility layouts
  • Leverage lean tools and data to enhance quality and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations in manufacturing processes
  • Support SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity) board management
