Primary Supply Teacher

£140 - £160 a day

We are currently working with primary schools in and around the Royston area who are looking for a reliable supply teacher to cover all primary key stages in times of sickness, PPA and training. You will be part of a team providing a wide range of stimulating activities, taught through an engaging curriculum, catering for children of all abilities. The schools are varied in terms of size and intake and all strive to offer a calm and friendly atmosphere throughout, created by a dedicated and professional staff and children who are motivated and happy.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring you arrive punctually at the school you have been booked into
  • Adhering to relevant school policies whilst covering that school
  • Passing on relevant information promptly and effectively within the school
  • Adhering to the set cover work and encouraging pupils to engage and complete said work
  • Providing a calm and productive learning environment for the pupils
  • Dealing with any issues that might arise in a prompt and professional manner

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to get one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
  • Experience with behaviours that are challenging
  • A calm & caring personality
  • A strong and resilient personality and be committed to pupils development
  • Reading, writing, numeracy and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage One (KS1) & Key Stage Two (KS2) curriculum
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (sponsorship is not an option)
