Electronics/RF Engineer ConsultantLocation: Cambridge, England, United KingdomContract: PermanentSalary: Competitive + Excellent BenefitsJob Description:Electus Recruitment is seeking an Electronics/RF Engineer Consultant to join a dynamic SME that is part of a larger group of companies poised for significant growth. As an Electronics/RF Engineer Consultant, you will be at the forefront of the innovation race to strengthen the UK’s Defence & Homeland Security, helping to defend and protect the UK from the latest technological and cyber threats.  Your work will have a real-world impact. You will explore pioneering concepts by collaborating with elite multi-disciplinary teams of highly educated and skilled scientists, engineers and designers. You’ll see ideas become a reality as you create prototypes through our client’s rapid approach to design and implementation. Every day, you will be operating at the boundary of technological exploration by inventing new solutions and enhancing existing hardware. Typically, this will involve analysis, computational modelling, prototype design, invention, laboratory testing, process development and manufacturing.? Your problem-solving skills will be enhanced as you tackle complex electronic engineering challenges that test your deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and physical principles beyond pure electronics.? You will also have many opportunities to expand your skillset into different areas, based on what interests you.Requirements:You will be qualified to degree level in a relevant engineering subject and will have previous experience working in electronics development, in particular RF PCB design and characterisation.  You will have a track record in the design and implementation of technological solutions.Proven experience with RF design tools (for example ADS, Microwave Office, CST) is essential.   In addition, experience in any of the following is desirable:
  • RADAR or communications applications
  • Microwave RF design
  • End-to-end electronics development and test
  • High speed digital PCB design
  • Antenna design
  • DSP
  • Scripting for test and modelling (for example in MATLAB/Simulink, Python)
