About the Role

Are you passionate about driving positive change and improving manufacturing processes? Our client, a leading manufacturer based in Royston, is seeking a dynamic and motivated Tool Maintenance Technician to join their team.

This full time, permanent role consists of being responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all customer and business owned tooling. You will manage the condition of all tooling through a database and review tooling and resolve any issues identified through documented tool reporting

You will have previous experience working in a workshop environment, be a competent user of hand tools, drills, grinders, polishing equipment and have worked with measuring equipment such as callipers, micrometres, and height gauges.

What you’ll be doing

  • The ongoing maintenance and repair of all manufacturing tooling used within the business.
  • The cataloguing and segregation of tooling and all associated data (CAD models/drawings/inspection reports).
  • Developing and testing tool functionality within the given process.
  • Managing and carrying out tooling validation and subsequent buy-off, prior to production release.
  • Troubleshooting tooling issues to find safe working solutions, in order to safely release tooling back to production in a timely manner.
