Senior / Semi - Senior Accountant

AJ Chambers are proudly representing a top 30 firms that has offices across the UK and Ireland. They are looking for either a Semi Senior or Senior Accountant in their Derby office.
Our client is are force to be reckoned with, their core services offer Accountancy, audits, tax and much more in there armory. Fairness, working & succeeding together, integrity and valuing relationships is huge part of their DNA and how it shapes everything they do.
What will you be doing?
- working closely with other members of the team to provide sufficient accounting services
- preparing accounts for unincorporated/incorporated businesses
- analysing account figures to spot trends and variances and identify any issues to the senior team
- high involvement in processing year end accounts and tax compliance queries
- involved in the preparation of management accounts
- processing VAT returns to a high standard
- Forming client relationships across a range of businesses and sectors
- instrumental in mentoring and supporting trainee and junior team members
What are they looking for?
- have AAT qualification and be on the journey towards your ACA/ACCA qualification
- strong knowledge of main accounting systems in the marketplace (eg; Sage, XERO, Quickbooks etc)
- experience in bookkeeping, VAT returns and accounts preparation
- confident and articulate communicator
- comfortable with managing a varied workload and professional study time
- Demonstrate a hands on, and proactive work ethic and supportive team approach
