About the Role:We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong accounting knowledge and operational insight to contribute to the smooth running of our finance operations. You will play a key role in providing accurate financial reporting, analysis, and supporting operational decisions within a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all operational costs are appropriately recorded and analysed.

  • Cost Management: Monitor and analyse operational costs, identifying areas of improvement and providing detailed variance analysis.

  • Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of operational accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights to the wider business on financial performance and cost efficiency.

  • Process Improvement: Work closely with internal teams to identify areas for process improvements and efficiencies within financial operations.

  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies in accordance with company standards.

  • Reporting & Support: Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for senior management and provide support to other departments on financial matters.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Operations and Finance, to ensure effective financial planning and control.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).

  • Experience in an operational accounting role, ideally within a similar industry.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

  • Proficient in using accounting software and advanced Excel skills.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of financial regulations and internal control processes.

  • Working Environment:
  • Hybrid working: Flexibility to work from home a few days per week, with regular visits to the office in Rugby.
