Senior Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a friendly supportive accounting practice located close to Rugby. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in accounting, looking to leverage their expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks).
  • Assist with tax audits and tax returns directly associated with the practice.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, instituting and maintaining other planning and control procedures.
  • Analyse and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Liaise with our Financial Manager and Accounting Manager to improve financial procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Senior Accountant.
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with accounting software and databases.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
  • Additional experience in Audit and International accounting is a plus.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA full qualification is preferred.
