Their mission is to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and tailored transport solutions that exceed their customers' expectations. To support their ambitious growth plans, they are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, this role will focus on securing new business opportunities and developing existing accounts to maximise revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • New Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new customers by promoting full load, part load, and groupage services across the UK and EU.
  • Account Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with existing customers to uncover growth opportunities and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Revenue Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets by developing tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions to identify opportunities for business expansion.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (operations, internal sales, customer service, and finance) to ensure smooth implementation of customer solutions and service excellence.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the Head of Sales on performance, pipeline, and market activity.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in business development or sales within the road freight/logistics sector (UK & EU focus preferred).
  • Strong understanding of full load, part load, and groupage services.
  • A results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and sales reporting systems.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
