A large engineering company who design, install and maintain electrical equipment are looking to recruit a Quality Inspection Supervisor to join their manufacturing team in Rugby.  

As Quality Inspection Supervisor you will be managing your small team of inspectors and also be completing daily measuring and quality inspection tasks on machinery and components used in the electrical power generation sector.

Role is suitable for people who can travel to Rugby as it is 100% site based.

Main responsibilities of Quality Inspection Supervisor:

  • Competent use of mechanical measuring equipment, such as micrometers, verniers, dial gauge indictors, slip gauges etc.
  • Maintain quality standards by inspecting and approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, and recording results.
  • Ensure company quality inspection procedures are adhered to.
  • Capture quality issues, carry out detailed investigations and report on corrective / preventative actions.
  • Support internal / external quality audit process.
  • Carry out site visits of suppliers, to monitor and audit processes on machining, fabrication, plating, stamping and laser cutting.
  • Review defect costs and highlight issues and trends for any in-house failures or supplier failures.
  • Oversee and review control of calibration of inspection measuring equipment.

Experience / qualifications required 

  • Electrical / mechanical engineering background.
  • Previous experience in using measuring equipment to carry out inspections and produce reports.
  • Experience of managing a small team of quality inspectors.
  • Problem solving techniques for non-conformances and quality issues.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality standard.
  • Previous experience with rotating machines an advantage
  • Be willing to engage in academic study by completing all training deemed appropriate
