The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for brand management and communications to make a genuine difference within a charity who require support on a maternity cover basis for 10 months.

The purpose of this job will be developing and delivering the charity’s communications, PR and brand strategies ensuring that they are insight-driven and audience-centric to generate awareness, demand, value and advocacy amongst their community.

Role Overview

You will be at the forefront of developing and delivering communications, PR, and brand strategies during the first year of an exciting new 5-year strategic period. Your role will be crucial in generating awareness, demand, value, and advocacy among their community. Key responsibilities will include:

Driving brand strategy: Develop and maintain the charity’s brand strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and delivering on their promise. You will embed core messaging and brand proposition across all touchpoints

Lead communications efforts: Plan and execute internal and external communication strategies to promote the brand, vision, and values. Develop innovative approaches to ensure messaging is clear, consistent, and effectively reaches and encourages people to access their support services.

Manage and review media relations: Manage public perception by developing and implementing PR and advertising strategies alongside the PR agency.

Analyse and improve: Set and manage KPIs, gather insights, and use data to refine and improve the PR, brand, and communications strategies

About You

The successful candidate will have proven experience in developing and implementing brand, PR, and communications strategies including building a brand profile and positioning which will be very important in this role. You will also be audience-centric in your approach with a strong understanding of PR and communications channels.

Leadership and management skills will be required because you will have one direct report to coach and develop and the ability to foster a culture of creativity, continuous improvement, and excellence.

Ideally you will be someone with the ability to think creatively and come up with new ideas while being highly organised and able to lead multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.
