Location: Rugby

Salary: £35-36K (£17ph) DOE

TRG are working in partnership with a company who specialise in high-value, technically advanced CNC milling and turning applications. They serve a diverse range of industries, including Engineering, Aerospace, Automotive, Oil and Gas, and more. With a strong commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality, and reliable service, the client maintains a customer-focused approach, ensuring that no challenge is too great to overcome. They are looking for a skilled machinist to join their friendly team who can add value to their machine shop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC milling (Heidenhain) to produce high-quality parts based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Offline and online programming
  • 4 axis milling
  • Write and modify CNC programs - Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for machining operations.
  • Conduct regular quality checks during machining, ensuring that all parts meet the required tolerances and specifications. Use measuring tools such as micrometers, callipers, and gauges to inspect finished products.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot any issues with machine functions or program errors and make necessary adjustments.
  • Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines in the workshop, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
  • Record machine usage, tool wear, and any issues that arise during production. Complete necessary paperwork for job tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller, experience with Heidenhain controls is imperative
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Solid understanding of machining techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and the use of measuring instruments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

Desirable Skills:

  • Technically minded machinist with at least 10 years experience in CNC milling
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC milling machines.
  • Familiarity with other control systems, though Heidenhain is the primary focus.
  • Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of Mastercam
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls and Mill+

Hours & Pay

  • Full-time – Permanent
  • £34,000 – 36,000
  • Late shift - 2pm till 12pm- Mon to Thur
  • Day shift -7.30 till 4.45 Mon to Thursand 7.30 till 12.30 Fri
