Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes, working with Fanuc controls, reading engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards, and meeting production deadlines. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Program Set and operate 2-axis CNC lathes
- Work with Fanuc controls
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards
- Complete first-offs, prove-outs, and inspections
- Meet production deadlines
- Conduct quality inspection of parts using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
- De-burr parts using various hand tools
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Perform any other duties as required and deemed appropriate
Qualifications
- Skilled in setting and operating CNC lathes and tooling
- Experience in program editing and G Code knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Proficiency in computer operations with a good understanding of CNC programs
- Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills
- Attention to detail with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines with high quality standards
- Willingness to work occasional overtime, sometimes at short notice
- Motivated and an excellent team player
- Experience in offline programming, especially Featurecam/Fusion 360 would be advantageous
Day-to-day
- Setting and operating CNC lathes
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Programming and editing CNC programs
- Conducting quality inspections of parts
- De-burring parts using hand tools
- Working independently and as part of a team
- Meeting production deadlines
- Occasional overtime may be required
- Utilizing precision measurement equipment
Package
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.00pm and Friday 7.30am - 3.00pm.
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time.
Weekly Hours: 39 Hours + Occasional Overtime when needed
Rate: 15.00 - 19.00 Hour
