Assistant Landfill Manager

Location: Rugby, Warwickshire

Hours: 48 hrs per week

Start date: Immediate

Project Partners are working with a building materials wholesaler who are now on the look out for an Assistant Landfill Manager based in Rugby, Warwickshire. Reporting directly to the Landfill Manager, the successful candidate will make sure that the daily operation of the quarry is being run to the highest standards of safety and have a “hands on” role to ensure the timeliest and cost-effective production of all materials produced on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a safe operation in compliance with legal requirements and company policies & procedures.
  • Organise, plan, coordinate and control all aspects of the Landfill Operations, including management of contractors, Rail Operations and Earthworks.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental permits and Incoming Waste Acceptance Criteria.
  • Manage operations in line with local planning conditions.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to tasks.
  • A high level of commitment to both the success of your site and own individual success.
  • The ability to engage and motivate multiple teams both internal and external to achieve results.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with key stakeholders.

This role will involve working both inside and outside in all conditions, it is not always glamorous, however your health & safety will always be our priority. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate previous Supervisory or Management experience gained within a quarry or similar environment. Possess good communication skills and have a real desire in developing your own skills. You will also:

  • Have previous experience managing large earthworks contracts.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
  • Have experience of undertaking risk assessments and developing safe working procedures.
  • Have experience of building successful relationships with internal / external stakeholders,
  • Work additional hours as required to meet the production needs.
  • Have high computer proficiency ideally with knowledge of SAP and Office 365 programmes.
  • Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities.

Qualification:

  • Hold or willing to complete the Level 3 inert Landfill WAMITAB Qualification.
  • Hold SHE NVQ Level 4.
  • Have undertaken Geotechnical Training.
  • CPD record (3 years minimum)
