The role involves drive innovation and lead the creation of software for cutting-edge Electric Drive Systems. This pivotal role spans the entire product lifecycle and involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver Drive technology for Marine, Navel, Energy and the Industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, code, validate, and maintain control software for high-power electronic drive systems used across Marine, Naval, Energy, and Industrial sectors.
* Utilise Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups and lab test systems for software validation.
* Create software interfaces for peripheral devices and support system commissioning.
* Ensure designs meet stringent performance, safety, and reliability benchmarks.
* Integrate and verify control applications as part of larger system architectures.
What We're Looking For:
* Deep understanding of programming principles for electrical machines and power electronics.
* Expertise in developing software for variable-speed drives and machine controls (e.g., induction, synchronous, and permanent magnet machines).
* Proficiency in control software for Variable Frequency Drives.
* Strong ability to convert high-level requirements into reliable and efficient software solutions.
* Technical writing skills to document designs and processes clearly.
* Knowledge of converter systems and topologies (AC/DC, DC/AC, DC/DC).
* Flexibility for travel and the ability to secure UK security clearance to at least BPSS level.
