The Role…
The Supervisor of the Navy factory is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring the efficient functioning of the Naval Workshop, supporting both the production process and team performance.
Key Responsibilities…
Take ownership of the factory build process for new products within the Naval Business, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish.
Manage daily workshop activities, ensuring effective workload distribution, labour allocation, and material handling for optimal productivity.
Maintain and manage the equipment and plant within your designated area, focusing on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement.
Drive and support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Assist the Naval Management team and step in to fulfil managerial duties during the manager’s absence.
Promote a "Safety First" culture and ensure "Good Housekeeping" practices are maintained across the workshop.
Emphasize a "right first time" approach to production, highlighting the importance of quality and on-time delivery.
Ensure that all processes are documented in line with quality assurance standards.
Motivate and encourage team members, providing clear objectives and identifying opportunities for skill development and further training
Act as a communication bridge between factory and engineering teams to ensure alignment and resolve issues promptly.
Actively assist in troubleshooting and ensure all work adheres to established quality standards and guidelines
Generate and share detailed reports on team performance, objectives, and deadlines to support the annual performance review process.
Address customer enquiries promptly, ensuring exceptional service and timely resolution of complaints
Your skills and experiences:
A degree or qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Proven experience in motor assembly or similar new manufacturing processes within a factory setting
A good understanding of rotating machinery and its operation
A strong commitment to producing high-quality products that meet customer specifications.
Demonstrated experience in leadership with a focus on team development. A willingness to participate in continuous coaching and mentorship is essential.
