Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an independent Property Consultancy with over 230 years of history. With offices in Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Warwickshire, and Somerset, we serve a diverse clientele, including rural landowners, commercial institutions, and charities.

The Role

You will be an experienced Planner and will play a key role in the promotion of land through Local and Neighbourhood Plans and engage in general planning work. This role requires someone who can collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to advise a variety of landowning clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Land Promotion: Advising on land promotion in the Midlands and beyond, including submission of representations at all stages of Plan preparation up to Examination.
  • Planning Appraisals & Applications: Conducting planning appraisals, engaging in pre-application discussions, preparing and submitting planning applications for diverse projects from large-scale developments to smaller rural schemes.
  • Consultant Management: Appointing and managing consultant teams.
  • Appeals & Prior Approvals: Advising on and submitting planning appeals and prior approval applications.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Qualifications: RTPI accreditation is welcomed but not required; RICS qualification is expected for candidates from a surveying background with extensive planning experience.
  • Sector Experience: Background in either private or public sectors, with experience reflecting the complexity of project workload.
