Job Role:

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be expected to work in a design office environment, whilst providing working design solutions to technical problems with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive the Clients brief/remit, formulate the scope of works and develop the design
  • Provide best-value working design solutions to technical problems.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of information, checking the work of other members of staff and aiding their continued learning and development.
  • Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary design environment such that designs consider the impact across all relevant disciplines.
  • Undertake calculations using design software but also by hand as required.
  • Produce written reports and specifications.
  • Complete full and accurate technical drawings for manufacture and assembly
  • Undertake site visits and site surveys.
  • Attend design review meetings and progress meetings and act as the point of contact for the Client.

The Candidate:

  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • At least 3 years' design experience in Turnkey Automation.
  • Knowledge and experience of the materials handling sector
  • An ability to undertake mechanical calculations.
  • A good understanding of project management
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor software, Solid works is of interest too.
  • FULL UK Driving License
