Job Purpose:
Join Rugby Borough Council's Communities & Homes Service as a Housing Strategy & Enabling Officer. In this role, you'll be pivotal in developing and implementing housing strategies, enabling new affordable housing, and understanding diverse housing needs. You'll also manage key relationships and negotiations with partners to maximise housing resources and support the Council's strategic housing objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and monitoring of housing strategies, policies, and action plans.
  • Conduct research and assessments to inform the Housing Strategy and Local Plan policies.
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to address affordable housing needs.
  • Manage partnerships with Homes England, Registered Providers, and developers to meet community housing requirements.
  • Oversee affordable housing negotiations, ensuring compliance with Section 106 agreements.
  • Promote low-cost homeownership and support the Council's affordable housing projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience in strategy development and housing policy.
  • Strong knowledge of UK housing, planning, and regeneration policies.
  • Proven ability to manage partnerships and negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills.
