A large electrical engineering company who design, install and maintain LV/HV rotating electrical equipment are looking to recruit an experienced UK based International Service Engineer / Tester.

The role of the International Service Engineer is to visit customers based in the UK, globally and offshore to inspect, disassembly, and report on damaged or worn machinery. These can be large to very large units so project plans and costs will then be created for the repair / maintenance of the equipment.

Person can be based anywhere in UK as long as they can travel to a UK airport with general ease.

Responsibilities of International Service Engineer / Tester:

  • Understand and interpret mechanical and schematic drawings
  • Conduct electrical testing to assess machine condition
  • Accurately identify damage / wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machinery
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to create Project Plans for resource requirements and estimated duration
  • Monitor progress against Project Plans and develop strategies to address potential delays
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are communicated to all relevant parties
  • Engage in daily communication with client representatives

Required skills of International Service Engineer:

  • Qualified professional with extensive experience in fitting and winding for electrical machinery
  • Hold technical qualifications, along with minimum of 3 years of on-site project experience working with rotating electrical machines
  • Knowledge of medium to large electrical rotating machines, including High Voltage systems, AC & DC motors, and generators, is essential
  • Experienced in conducting electrical testing, such as PD&TD testing, El CID testing, RSO testing, and HV Leakage testing.
  • Ability to travel and spend time away form home.
