As an Assistant Buyer for Direct & Indirect Purchasing, you'll play a pivotal role in sourcing materials and services that drive the company forward. What You Will Do:

- Raise routine purchase orders for production stock, R&D, and ad hoc requirements, focusing on best quality, price, and delivery.

- Monitor and expedite order deliveries, reporting any supplier delivery issues.

- Maintain and optimise the purchasing relationship with suppliers, ensuring materials meet specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

- Keep the supplier and component database up-to-date with price and specification changes.

- Develop relationships with suppliers and manage the return process for faulty goods.

- Engage in strategic buying activities to meet production needs and negotiate cost and lead time reductions.

What You Will Bring:

- Experience within a manufacturing procurement team, with a business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering qualification being advantageous.

- Strong purchasing, negotiation, and commercial understanding within a manufacturing environment.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.

- A proven track record of working closely with suppliers to negotiate price, quality, and delivery.

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience using an integrated MRP system such as SAGE 200 and/or SICON.
