Pay rate: up to £26000 PA

Contract: 8 month fixed term contract (maternity cover)

Working Shifts: Monday to Friday, between hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm (office based only), PART TIME or FULL TIME

Coventry Reed Specialist Recruitment are delighted to be representing company within the Rugby area that specialise in distribution

As an Logistics Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering excellent customer service to our on-site customer.
  • Preparing shipping/transport quotation
  • Booking dispatches with hauliers, forwarders, dispatch depots, and shipping lines.
  • Creating invoices, packing lists, collection/dispatch notes, and any other related export documentation required for export dispatches.
  • Entering bookings into our bespoke shipment software and managing specific projects.
  • Expediting shipments, processing supplier and customer invoices, and ensuring costs are correct on the bespoke software.
  • Answering telephone calls, expediting orders and shipments, and dealing with inter-company and external queries.
  • Reporting and escalating issues to the Manager as required.

To be successful in this role, you will meet the below criteria:

  • Knowledge of shipping methods and terminology.
  • Experience within a freight forwarding environment.
  • Intermediate experience of MS Office programs.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Excellent numeracy, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong administration skills and teamwork ethic, with the ability to work independently when required.
