My client is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their team on a permanent basis.

Working hours Monday - Friday 1.00pm- 9.00pm

Role

Deliver the most efficient delivery plan for company fleet and develop effective planning measurement of performance and productivity, providing feedback and guidance where needed You will also be responsible for Driving results through historical data collection and market trend analytics, leading to actionable processes and metrics.

Key Duties

  • Responsible for development and continues improvement of planning software to gain efficacies and savings
  • Plan delivery fleet considering legal and financial parameters
  • Improve financial status by analysing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
  • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts

  • Implement process changes to improve operational performance
  • Support to develop cost analysis models and frameworks to support, prioritize and influence the supply chain team and other networks in the organization
  • Highlights and drives change through the organisation through use of data and appropriate systems to manage cost and service and identify opportunities for improvement in the routing department
  • Analyse large amounts of data and draw conclusions, develop a project plan, and execute the plan
  • Act as a liaison between routing, sales, transportation, and operations teams
  • Complete analysis on new customers to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Work cross-departmentally to bolster analytics and reporting focused on Key Performance Indicators

Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years operational transport experience.
  • Experience of PC based transport scheduling system
  • Knowledge of Tachograph regulation, RTD/WTD, basic operator licence compliance requirements
  • Previous face to face management of delivery drivers
