About the Role
Rugby Borough Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle Maintenance Fitter to ensure the safety, compliance, and efficiency of the Council's fleet. This role involves servicing, repairing, and maintaining a range of vehicles and machinery, supporting the delivery of essential Council services.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and maintain Council vehicles and machinery to the highest standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections (Class 4 & 7) and taxi compliance tests.
- Provide roadside breakdown support, including at landfill sites.
- Ensure all work meets VOSA and Health & Safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (iRTEC) preferred - training available if required.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, compliance, and safety regulations.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
