Company Description

W.B Daw & Son is a family farming business based in Rugeley, Staffordshire. We farm over 3,500 acres, consisting of combinable crops and potatoes as well as operating beef, sheep and pig enterprises accompanied by various other diversifications.

Job Description

A new position has arisen for a full time Farm Administrator/Secretary. The role is to primarily support the owners across all aspects of the business. Hours and working days can be flexible to suit the individual, but similar to Mon-Fri, 30-40hrs a week, working from a newly built farm office in person, on-site parking, holiday allowance, competitive salary TBC.

The Role

  • Assist the farm manager with administration of the daily business activities.
  • Management of business accounts, invoicing, payments, cash flow, book keeping, PAYE, VAT.
  • Administration of farming activities, record keeping, data management, farm assurance, compliance, pricing, contracts, tenancies.
  • Administration of HR activities, training, health and safety, inductions, contracts, holidays, recruitment.
  • Implementing, organising and upkeeping of documentation.
  • Administration of HS2 communications, processes and enquiries new and ongoing.
  • Provide owners with up-to-date financial records for preparation of accounts, forecasts, projections and budgeting.

The Individual

  • Have a sound understanding of farming practises.
  • Have experience managing business accounts.
  • Ability to organise themselves, problem solve, co-ordinate with others and work independently.
  • Good communication skills, able to work with owners and staff while maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Work in a professional manner with responsibility and discretion.
  • Excellent computer/IT skills, able to implement new software and systems of work.
  • Must be able to commute by car to rural location.
