We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-to-1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with trauma and mental health needs through their school journey at one of our specialized Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) primary schools. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to a child with trauma and mental health needs throughout the school day.
  • Assist the child with academic tasks, ensuring they stay engaged and on track with their learning goals.

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team to ensure a holistic approach to the child's development.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding of trauma-informed practices and approaches to supporting children with mental health challenges.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in child psychology, mental health, or special educational needs (SEN).
  • Experience in a similar role within a school or care setting.
