What Will You Be Doing?


Reporting into the Internal Sales Leader you will be responsible for proactively identifying sales opportunities from the qualification of sales leads within a regional team. You will be building strong customer relationships throughout the stages of pre tender up to order placement across both our non-residential and residential channels.


The day-to-day


  • Initiative making outbound calls to indirect customers to include Architects, Designers, Contractors, Plumbers and Merchants.
  • Project tracking of existing area pipeline and capturing intelligence in our salesforce system, ensuring data accuracy and critical fields maintained.
  • Recognizing and converting the opportunity to make valuable appointments for the Sales Team
  • Investigating sales prospects from advertising, sales lead, marketing campaigns, editorials etc
  • Pro-active investigational tracking of projects within defined regional territory
  • Working as a wider team with the sales team with the sales team to meet defined goals and objectives
  • Identifying taking share opportunities within the pipeline Recording detail to define and increase our share of wallet
  • Nurturing customer relationships from pre-tender trough to order placement
  • Track down and confirm a copy of the order from our merchant direct partner
  • Demonstrating an understanding of the customer supply chain process
  • Promoting Ideal Standard products and services at every opportunity via telephone, email, face to face
  • To meet KPI targets around project and opportunity tracking and transacted sales targets as part of wider channel.


The Ideal Candidate will have:


  • Client and sales driven nature
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Data accuracy
  • Investigative nature
  • Understanding of the market and the roles of the customer types
  • Ability to recognise opportunities and book appointments for the Sales Team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office, and ideally Salesforce, SAP (but not essential as training is provided)
  • Ability to work to deadlines and understand how to prioritise your work load
  • Share of wallet, understanding our competitors and the current market
  • Agility and flexibility to be a complete collaborator and help others as and when required.
