Your new companyHays are working with a leading company based in Rugeley who are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.Your new roleAs a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance department. Your primary responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, managing invoices, reconciling expenses, and ensuring compliance with administrative and financial procedures. This role requires strong organisational skills, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Order Processing: Accurately review, raise, and manage purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Invoice Management: Process supplier invoices efficiently while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Credit Card Expense Management: Reconcile employee credit card transactions, verify supporting documentation and compliance.
  • Client Applications & Sales Invoices: Issue monthly applications to clients on behalf of the project management team and raise sales invoices accordingly.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain and update the Health and Safety database, ensuring subcontractors hold the required certifications for site access.
  • General Administrative Support: Provides assistance with filing, scanning, answering phone calls, and handling other ad-hoc administrative duties as required.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience as a finance assistant is essential.
  • Sage50 experience is required.
  • IT literate for all Microsoft packages particularly Excel & Word are essential for this role.
  • High attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach to tasks.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Demonstrate discretion and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with willingness to take on new challenges.
