We are looking for a dedicated Speech and Language Assistant to support students with speech and language difficulties at a specialized school in Staffordshire. This school caters to students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), offering a nurturing, inclusive environment for those with complex needs.

Role Overview:In this role, you'll work closely with students to develop communication skills, using targeted strategies and exercises to encourage progress. You'll collaborate with educational staff to integrate speech and language development into students' learning plans, adapting to individual needs to foster confidence and independence in communication.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in a similar setting, supporting students with complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills and patience, with a proactive, empathetic approach.
  • Relevant qualifications in speech and language or SEN support (desirable).
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
