The Role:
As a Design & Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. You will teach a range of topics, including product design, electronics, and resistant materials, and help students develop both their practical and theoretical skills. The school is committed to providing a supportive and innovative environment where both students and staff can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective Design & Technology lessons to students at Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 (if applicable)
Plan and prepare high-quality lessons and learning materials
Use a range of teaching methods and resources to cater to the needs of all learners
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
Encourage students' creativity and independent thinking
Participate in departmental meetings, extra-curricular activities, and school events
Contribute to the development and improvement of the DT department
The Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Design & Technology or a related subject
Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary school level (Key Stage 3 & 4)
A passion for teaching and fostering creativity in students
Strong classroom management skills and a positive, proactive attitude
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A DBS on the update service or the willingness to purchase a new one through Aspire People.
