Job Overview:

We are seeking two SHEA (Safety, Health, Environmental, and Assurance) Advisors to join our team for ongoing civil engineering projects in Acton or West Ruislip. The positions will involve night shift work, ensuring the highest standards of safety, health, environmental, and assurance compliance are maintained on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce compliance with SHEA regulations and site-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and support on SHEA matters to site teams, subcontractors, and management.
  • Review and update risk assessments, method statements, and safety documentation.
  • Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to ensure site personnel are aware of SHEA practices and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending improvements to prevent future occurrences.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all aspects of the project.

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SHEA Advisor within the civil engineering or construction sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, health, environmental, and assurance regulations and best practices.
  • Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and risk assessments in a civil engineering environment.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent in safety and health management.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience on infrastructure projects or railway environments.
  • Familiarity with Network Rail standards (if applicable).
