Financial Controller - Runcorn

Job Duties:
- Manage Financial Operations - Oversee daily financial operations, including bookkeeping, invoicing, and payroll.
- Financial Reporting - Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to the management team.
- Budgeting and Forecasting - Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and financial plans to support strategic decision-making.
- Cash Flow Management - Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the business has sufficient liquidity for its operations and growth.
- Team Supervision - Lead and mentor a small finance team, including assigning tasks, reviewing performance, and providing support.
- Compliance and Controls - Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls to maintain financial integrity.
- Financial Analysis - Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on profitability, cost management, and financial performance.
- Process Improvement - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial operations.
- Audit Coordination - Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are provided.
- Support MD - Collaborate closely with the Managing Director (MD) to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Stakeholder Communication - Communicate financial information to stakeholders, including investors, banks, and other external parties.
- Tax Management - Oversee tax compliance and planning, including preparation and submission of tax returns.

Ideal experience
- ACA or ACCA/CIMA Qualified Accountant
- Strong team leader experience
- Experience within an SME background
- Experience within a No 1 role
