My client, a highly successful and acquisitive PLC, are looking to recruit a technically strong Group Finance Analyst to join their head office finance team in Runcorn.

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and financially technical Group Financial Analyst to join their team in Runcorn. This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of the Group Finance team, providing comprehensive financial analysis, reporting and support to ensure effective decision-making across the business.

You will work closely with senior management, divisional finance teams and other stakeholders to drive financial performance and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial reports.

This is a perfect opportunity for anyone looking to use their technical group finance experience, whilst also gaining some more analytical commercial finance experience.

What you'll do:

As a Group Financial Analyst, your role will be centralised within the Group Finance team. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include preparing annual and interim financial statements, statutory accounts for subsidiary companies, as well as assisting in determining corporation tax provisions. You'll also be tasked with implementing new or updated IFRS accounting standards across the group. Your analytical skills will be put to use in reviewing, analysing, and reporting on both financial performance metrics and non-financial data. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to various ad-hoc projects, including potential acquisitions.

  • Assist with preparation of Group Annual and Interim Financial Statements
  • Prepare Statutory Accounts for all subsidiary companies and liaise with auditors
  • Assist with determining interim and year-end Corporation Tax provision
  • Prepare tax computations, liaising with external advisors and group businesses
  • Implement new or updated IFRS Accounting standards across the Group
  • In-depth review, analysis and reporting of the financial performance and metrics of the Group
  • In-depth review, analysis and internal assurance of the Group's non-financial data
  • Involvement in a variety of adhoc projects including assistance with potential acquisitions

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Group Financial Analyst position is an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified professional with experience in statutory reporting. You should have a strong understanding of current IFRS and FRS101 accounting standards, along with the ability to understand, resolve, and discuss technical accounting issues. Previous exposure to Corporation Tax would be beneficial. High computer literacy is required for this role, particularly excellent Excel skills. Superior analytical reasoning with focused attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
