Our client is a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector and is currently seeking a Construction Manager to join their team based in Runcorn. This is a permanent staff role with a hybrid working pattern and potential frequent travel to project sites. You will work within a resourceful and creative environment alongside a highly talented team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Principal Contractor in accordance with CDM 2015 (Construction Design and Management) regulations, ensuring responsibilities are discharged correctly.
- Support the Project Manager with the development of the programme to ensure all construction activities are planned and managed appropriately.
- Support project QHSE to ensure the highest level of health and safety throughout construction activities.
- Ensure construction risks are identified and managed to minimise project impact through reviews and client-specific safety meetings.
- Manage construction information like records and drawings in accordance with Quality Management Systems.
- Lead and manage the construction team and sub-contractors to deliver project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, particularly during construction stages.
- Provide expertise and oversight during tender evaluations and oversee the development of construction estimates and budget management.
- Provide construction support during commissioning phases as required.
- Report regularly to the Project Manager and senior leadership on progress, risks, and issues.
- Lead all construction-specific meetings, workshops, and discussions.
Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in EPC projects operating under NEC4 forms of contract, focusing on civil and construction projects.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering complex construction projects, ideally within the Oil & Gas Industry, under CDM 2015 Regulations.
- HND/C or higher in a relevant discipline such as construction or civils.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors and oversee site execution.
- Strong understanding of Process Safety, including experience with Formal Process Safety Assessments such as HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON.
- Accredited CSCS certification or equivalent.
- SMSTS, SHEA Gas, and SCO 91 Certification (desirable).
- APMP accreditation (desirable).
- Temporary Works Coordinator certification.
- An understanding of budget management and financial controls would be beneficial.
