About the Role:

We are seeking an empathetic and resilient individual to join our team as an SEMH teaching assistant. In this role, you will provide vital support within the classroom, assisting teachers and ensuring that pupils are engaging with their lessons. Many of our students have faced significant barriers to learning and may have had negative experiences in the past. Your role will be to mentor and support them, helping them understand the importance of their education and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Assist within classes, supporting the teacher and ensuring pupils are engaged with lessons.

· Work closely with students who have challenging behaviours, SEMH needs, or additional needs.

· Provide one-on-one mentoring to help students overcome barriers to learning.

· Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

· Use your empathy and understanding to build positive relationships with students.

Requirements:

· Strong background in working with adults or young people with challenging behaviours, SEMH needs, or additional needs.

· Empathetic and passionate about supporting young learners.

· Resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour effectively.

· Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.

· Commitment to helping students understand the importance of their education and overcoming past negative experiences.
